This Cookie Policy explains how Budgetwise Limited uses cookies and similar tracking technologies in the Isaac application and on the Isaac website (www.isaacmoney.com). It applies alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites or applications to store information. Mobile apps may also use similar local storage technologies (such as AsyncStorage) that function analogously. In this policy “cookies” refers to all such technologies unless specified otherwise.
2. Technologies We Use
2.1 Essential / Strictly Necessary
These are required for the Service to function. They include:
- Authentication tokens — to keep you logged into your account;
- Session identifiers — to maintain your in-app session;
- Preference storage — to remember your chosen theme and other settings;
- Locally-stored plan data (AsyncStorage) — your pension plans stored on-device.
Legal basis: these are strictly necessary for the Service and do not require your consent. They cannot be disabled without preventing the Service from functioning.
2.2 Functional
These enhance the Service by remembering your choices:
- Subscription entitlement cache (RevenueCat SDK) — avoids repeated entitlement checks;
- Onboarding completion flags — so we do not show you introductory screens repeatedly.
Legal basis: legitimate interests. We inform you about these technologies via this policy.
2.3 Analytics
Where we use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Service (e.g. crash reporting, usage patterns), these collect anonymised or pseudonymised data only. The app does not contain advertising trackers. Legal basis: consent. Where analytics are non-essential, we will seek your consent via an in-app prompt in jurisdictions where this is required.
2.4 Third-Party Technologies
Third-party SDKs integrated into the Service may set their own local data:
- RevenueCat SDK — subscription and entitlement management. RevenueCat’s privacy policy applies: revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Expo / React Native runtime — technical libraries required for app functionality.
We do not sell data to advertisers, and the app does not use advertising cookies. Our website uses one advertising measurement tool, the Meta Pixel, and only if you choose “Accept all” (see section 4).
3. Your Choices
For strictly necessary technologies, you cannot opt out without disabling the Service. For analytics or non-essential technologies, you may:
- withdraw consent via the in-app privacy settings (where available);
- adjust your device’s privacy settings to limit ad tracking or identifier sharing;
- contact us at support@isaacmoney.com to request that we disable analytics processing for your account; or
- uninstall the app, which will remove all locally-stored data.
Note that some controls may be managed by the App Store Platform and are outside our direct control.
4. Website Cookies (isaacmoney.com)
If you visit our website, we use:
- Strictly necessary storage: for website security and session management, and to remember your cookie choice (a value called
isaac_cookie_consentin your browser’s local storage). These don’t need consent. - Page analytics (Umami): counts page views and referrers so we can see which pages are useful. Umami doesn’t set cookies or build a profile of you across sites, and it records no financial information. If you choose “Accept all”, we also record which buttons are used, such as “Download on the App Store”, with the page they were on.
- Download page counts: on our download page we count, without cookies and without storing anything on your device, how far each visit gets: the page loading, the video playing, a download button being tapped, and your answer if you tell us why you’re not downloading. Each count carries the advert campaign named in the link you followed, the kind of device (iPhone, Android or computer), and whether the page was open inside Facebook’s or Instagram’s own browser. We don’t keep your IP address or browser details, and a visit can’t be linked to you or to any other visit. The links on that page pass the campaign on to the app store or web app, so we can tell which adverts lead to accounts. We keep these counts for 400 days.
- Meta Pixel (advertising measurement): run by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. It tells us whether people who saw our adverts on Facebook or Instagram went on to visit the site or create an account in the web app (our server reports the account sign-up to Meta, as our Privacy Policy explains). It loads only after you choose “Accept all”, and it may set cookies such as
_fbpand_fbc. We also store your choice in anisaac_cookie_consentcookie across isaacmoney.com, so the web app respects it too. Meta’s own privacy policy applies to what it collects: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Choose “Reject non-essential” and neither the extra analytics events nor the Meta Pixel load. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
5. Retention
Session cookies/tokens are deleted when you close the app or log out. Persistent local storage data is retained until you uninstall the app, clear app data, or request deletion. Analytics data is retained in anonymised form per the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Please check back periodically. Material changes will be notified to you via the app.
